  Set amid 38 acres of woodland and gardens, 3 miles away from the historic towns of Hastings and Battle in East Sussex, the hotel is an ideal base to explore 1066 country. The house was built in 1719 and remodelled substantially in 1776 by General Sir James Murray, who served under Wolfe and was later Governor of Quebec. He named the house Beauport after his summer residence in Canada. Recently acquired by Duncan Bannatyne, the hotel has been extensively modernised and refurbished. During your stay you can enjoy free access to Bannatynes health club, complete with a 20 metre pool and state - of - the - art fitness facilities.

Surrounded by wooded parkland, country walks and formal gardens, the hotel has a relaxing peaceful setting. Built in the grounds of the hotel, the health club offers superb relaxation facilities, including air - conditioned changing rooms; a heated indoor swimming pool; a steam room; a sauna; a spa; 3 aerobic studios; a spinning (cycling) studio; a supervised gym area and a cafe bar. Other facilities available at an additional cost include vertical sun showers and St Tropez spray tanning. Offering a range of relaxing and therapeutic treatments at an additional cost, the Sensory Spa offers the perfect opportunity to unwind. The spa boasts 4 treatment rooms and one dual room, perfect for couples to share a treatment. There is also a hair studio, a state - of - the - art relaxation room with heated loungers and twin outdoor spa pools. A full menu of treatments is available, including massages and facials (using Elemis products), waxing, manicures and pedicures (Leighton Denny) and even make - up lessons and demonstrations. All of the treatments are designed to leave you feeling relaxed and rejuvenated. Other leisure facilities in the hotels grounds include an all - weather tennis court; garden chess; and a 9 - hole (par 3) golf course.
